Why One Child Policy is a need for India?
One Child Policy says parents to have only one child else you have to pay penalty as per the government rule. The exceptional case of twins will not be penalized as it does not consider as a fault. Early in the 1980s, The Chinese Government added a rule in the policy for the rural parents allowing a second child only if the first child is a daughter. China's Policy was widely discussed worldwide and soon became a hot topic for the magazine and newspapers.
The policy made an effect on infanticide rate and the bad impact it ever made was less girl child as every parent want a boy child which lead to selected sex abortion and abandonment of the female child.
The Policy made a great impact on the country as it prevented 400 million births but as they say, everything has a good and a bad impact, This policy abuses human rights. Since everyone has the right to live a life how one wants. The corrupted politicians, wealthy people, filmmakers made a mockery of this policy. According to some sources, many politicians neither followed the policy nor penalized wealthy people for breaking the policy rules.
Now if we imagine having this policy in India most of the problems will come to an end such as unemployment, environmental destruction like noise pollution, financial issues etc. Since there's an alert that India is going to run out of water starting this policy now, can make an impact on time.
Indian state Assam has taken a decision in respect of overpopulation which says a person having more than two children can not opt for a government job or stand for elections.
