INDIAN AIR FORCE DAY: This Year's Parade & Six Ways To Join The Indian Air Force!!

This October 8, Indian Air Force is celebrating it's 88th anniversary. This year is special as Dassault Rafale is also included in this year's parade. The parade takes place in Hindon Airbase in Ghaziabad, Delhi

The Indian Air Force was established in the year 1932 at the time of British India. It first service was for britishers in World War II when it used to be called Royal Indian Air Force. Later on with the transition of government in 1950, the prefix Royal was removed. IAF has a special circular flag Which includes the same colors as the official Indian Flag.

This year's parade includes:

• CH-47F Chinook is an advanced multi-mission, tandem rotor helicopter with unmatched strategic airlift capability across the full spectrum of combat and humanitarian missions.

• MIG-21 is a supersonic air combat interceptor known for its agility and swift response. 

• ALH RUDRA is an indigenously produced attack helicopter, capable of a wide range of missions, including reconnaissance, troop transport, anti-tank warfare, and close air support. 



• IL-76 GAJRAJ is a four-engine, multi-purpose, turbofan strategic airlifter & military-transport aircraft.
The aircraft can deliver heavy machinery to remote areas, carry tanks, artillery & is utilised for HADR Operations. 

• MI-17VS is a medium-lift helicopter, equipped with state-of-art navigational equipment & modern avionics, designed to be deployed for troops & arms transport, fire support and search-and-rescue (SAR) missions. 

• TEJAS is an indigenously developed, single-engine, fourth-generation, high-agility, multirole, supersonic light combat aircraft. 

• APACHE is a twin-turbo shaft attack helicopter with a tandem cockpit for two crew & a tail wheel-type landing gear arrangement. 

• RAFALE is a 4.5 generation, twin-engine omnirole, air supremacy, interdiction, aerial reconnaissance, ground support, in-depth strike, anti-ship and nuclear deterrence fighter aircraft, equipped with a wide range of weapons. 


• C-130J Super Hercules is a four-engine turboprop military transport aircraft.
IAF has integrated this machine for Special Ops, HADR missions & air maintenance roles. 

• C-17 Globemaster is a high-wing, 4-engine, T-tailed military-transport aircraft, capable of carrying large equipment, supplies & troops both by day & night.
Extended reach and swift response. 

• MI- 35 is a twin-engine turboshaft, assault, anti-armour helicopter capable of carrying 8 men assault squad with four-barrel 12.7 mm rotary gun in nose barbette and upto 1500 kg of external ordnance including Scorpion anti-tank missiles.

• SU-30 MKI Flanker is a twinjet multirole air superiority, all-weather, long-range fighter aircraft.

WAYS TO JOIN THE INDIAN AIR FORCE 

Everyone wishes to serve the country but only few get the opportunity to do it. Air Force Army is one of such, many people want to work in and some even try their luck. But before you can try you should know how many ways are there to join the IAF. 

After 10th - Many students who doesn't study futher, can join air force. IAF recruits various civilian posts as an example - MTS (Multi Tasking Staff) ; LDC (Lower Division Clerk) ; Cook, Watchman, Carpenter, Tailor etc. These jobs are not high profile jobs but are respected. Some posts qualification is limited to 10th class and some require ITI. To know more visit the main site of IAF. 

After 12th - Candidates need to give a written exam and have to pass an interview as known as SSB. 

After Graduation - Candidates are required to pass the CDS exam which is conducted by the UPSC twice a year. For a bigger post like Officers, one can appear in the AFCAT (Air Force Common Admission Test) exam. 

After Post Graduation - It is a bit easy for a candidate to join the air force if they have a degree in Aeronautical Engineering or Electronics. 

NCC Entry - It is a special entry. National Cadet Corps (NCC) Also known as Fourth line of Defence provides the opportunity if the candidate have completed NCC training and Obtained a C Certificate from the Air Wing. 

UES Entry - Like NCC, this is also a special entry. University Entry Scheme (UES) is for those who are pursuing B. Tech Degree.

The age plays a major in these exams. So, candidate who wish to apply must check all the terms and conditions. All these jobs are amazing and worth giving a try. Moreover, the pay and the benefits are also good.
